Wise Men Still Seek Him

We are thankful for all of you and your partnership in the gospel. But of course all that we do points us to Jesus – the baby who brought light and life to our dark world. Thankful that he still seeks the broken and the lame and changes us into starry signs of his power and love. We can’t wait until he comes again and makes all things new.

Wise men once sought him;

They followed the starry sign

And found their King.

Recognizing royalty,

Despite the manger throne and courtier cows,

They spread themselves and their gifts

Before the child who came to save the world.

~

Now the weak and foolish are found by him;

Recognizing possibility,

The Savior seeks the broken and the lame.

And they, recognizing royalty in cross and crown of thorns,

Spread themselves in gratitude before him.

~

He takes their gift of heart and life

And offers himself in return—

Making the foolish wise,

The weak strong, and

Turning the dim into shining stars,

A living sign to a dark universe

That the reign of the King has begun.
